John K. Jorman, Sr. the son of Cornelius Jorman, Sr. and Cora Sansbury Jorman was born on August 16, 1926 in Indianapolis, IN. At the age of five years he moved to Dayton, Ohio with his family and graduated from Roosevelt High School. While attending Roosevelt High School he engaged himself in sports activities by running on the track team. He would jump over fences to practice hurdling.  As a result John became City Long Jump Champion of Dayton, Ohio.

Kenneth, as the family called him, frequently reminisced about his first job. He was a teenager and bagged groceries at Waya's French Market. In his early adulthood he moved back to Indianapolis with his family.

Kenneth was stationed at Myrtle Beach US Army Air Force Base near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from 1946 - 1947 as a clerk typist in the ranks of Corporal.  John Kenneth is one of the few surviving World War II Veterans in the country.

After returning from his tour of duty in the military, he attended Butler University where he pledged with the sorority Kappa Alpha Si.  During his college years, he courted the late and lovely Lucille Holloway Jorman, whom he married and they had five children, John K. Jorman, Jr., Dominic Jorman Sr., Yolanda Jorman Beaver, Lisa Jorman, and Jerome Jorman, Sr.

Kenneth worked at the Finance Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison and retired from the United States Postal Service after 32 years. He was a patient, happy man and did well providing for his family and was a good husband and  father. He often played the harmonica and acoustic guitar for his peace and pleasure.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister, Frances Phillips Harris; brother, Cornelius Jorman Jr., wife and sons, John K. Jorman, Jr. and Dominic Jorman, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Yolanda, Lisa, and Jerome; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
