Gary Delaney Offutt entered this world on November 12, 1952, to Lawrence Alexander and Mary Lucille Smith Offutt in Indianapolis, Indiana, who preceded him in death.

Gary completed his elementary education at Indianapolis Public Schools 279, 45 and received his high school diploma from Arsenal Technical High School. He also earned his Associates Degree from Ivy Tech College.


Gary declared his belief in Jesus Christ at a young age, and he has been a faithful member of several churches throughout his life. Around the year 2005 and under the spiritual teaching of Pastor Jeffery A. Johnson, Sr., Gary joined the Eastern Star Church . He was a dedicated member of the 30th Street Greeters Ministry for several years, and a faithful member of the Cooper Road Choir. Anyone that knew Gary knew his love of all genres of music, especially Gospel/Christian music. 


Gary was united in holy matrimony to Deborah Allen. To this union was born Gary Offutt, Jr. Gary was also united in holy matrimony to Demetra Crowe. Stefhen Offutt was born to Gary and Demetra's union. 


Gary loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. He was a member of Eastern Star Church where he sang in the choir. 


Gary was a professional truck driver. He was employed by Federal Express for many years until he retired. 


Mr. Gary D. Offutt, Sr. departed this life on Friday, September 4, at 11:46 p.m. at the age of 67. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Fannie Mae Pope, Dennis Wilson, Daniel Offutt, Warren Offutt, Sr., Gwendolyn Offutt Clayton and Janeth E. Thomas and many loved ones. His memory will be deeply cherished by his sons, Gary Offutt, Jr. (DeAnna Cole, fiancé), Stefhen Offutt (Katie); grandchildren, Gary Offutt, III (Briana), Lauran Offutt, Evan Offutt, Sofia Offutt; sister, Judy L. Offutt; brother, LaRue Offutt, Sr. (Wilhelmina), a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many loved ones.
