Edward Lee Beard, oldest son of the late Jessie and Annie Beard was born on June 15, 1946 in Denmark, TN.  He grew up in Denmark, TN with his younger siblings, Willie Lou and Maurice.   He was known as “Lee” by family and close friends. 

Lee graduated High School in 1964 from West High School in Jackson, TN.  Lee went on to play basketball at Lane College.  In 1967 Lee was drafted into the Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. 

Lee was an avid basketball player and he enjoyed shooting pool, throwing darts, sitting outside enjoying nature and listening to Al Green.

Lee married Rosie on March 3, 1982 in holy matrimony and to the union 2 children were born, Jason and Tiffany.

Lee retired from Link Belt, Inc. in 2003 after over 40 years of employment.  After retirement Lee enjoyed being a member of Barnes United Methodist Church, spending time with his family and attending his grandson’s basketball games. 

Lee leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rosie Beard; 2 children, Jason Jelks, Tiffany (Damon) Howard; 3 grandchildren, Tierra English, Darion Howard, Damon Howard, Jr; goddaughter, Mia Michelle Nicole Poindexter; brother, Maurice (Vanessa) Weddle; 2 sisters, Elizabeth (Earl) Norah, Willie Lou McFarland and a host of nieces, nephews, other  relatives and friends.

So sorry to hear of Lee passing we were members of the same Church as teenagers our grandfathers were both on the deacon board at our home Church RIP my old friend

Moe and Cookie, we are sincerely sorry for the loss of your brother. 2020 has been a tough year but God does bring us to anything we can’t get through. Love y’all and praying 🙏🏾 for your healing.
