Obituary
Marcia Ann Medaris was born on August 19, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the second oldest child born to Frank and Maude Lewis.
Marcia graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1966. She retired from IU Health in 2007.
Marcia lived a very full life traveling and spending time with her family. She was always the family organizer keeping them all together throughout the years. She had an infectious smile that would light up a room, but most of all her love for God shined through. She returned to the Lord later in life renewing her faith at Grace Apostolic Church and Zion Tabernacle where she remained a faithful member until her passing. She was a member of Hospitality Auxiliary.
Marcia had many business interests throughout her life. She could do anything she set her mind after. She had Marlo the Clown, Kordae Jewelry, Neighborhood Girls Club, flee market shops and a host of other ventures.
Marcia departed this life on August 5, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospice, where she received excellent care. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank James and Maude Lewis; daughter, Shana Medaris; and brother, Michael Lewis.
Marcia leaves to cherish her memories her sons, Keith Medaris and Eric Medaris; daughters, Monica Artis (Damein), and Christina Medaris-Jones (Thomas); grandchildren, Keith Medaris Jr., Alia Medaris, Ericka Medaris, Javen Medaris, Damon Taylor Jr., Myles Artis, Jacob Artis, and John Keller Jr.; sister, Karen Rainey-Porter and a host of other relatives and friends.
