Obituary
Damon Lester Frederick was born on July 1, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana to George J. and Dorothy Frances (Rayford) Frederick II. He was the fourth child of six.
Damon completed his primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis public school system. He attended Joyce Kilmer School #69 from kindergarten to 8th grade. He then went on to attend Broad Ripple High School. He played the trombone in the marching band and graduated with the class of1979.
Damon loved to play tennis, basketball, table tennis and bowling. He was on the National Junior Tennis League team that won the City Tournament in 1974 then went on to Bowling Green, Ohio to play in the National Tournament. He was also an avid bowler and played with several leagues. He bowled a perfect score of 300 and received a ring.
At an early age, Damon’s father took him to Pennyman’s Paint and Body Shop every Saturday to learn the trade. In 1979, Damon’s father opened Frederick and Son’s Paint and Body Shop where Damon worked with his family. In 1992 Damon opened his own shop.
On June 4, 2005, Damon married Rhonda Pack. Although Damon had no children, he helped his wife raise two grandchildren. Damon was a quiet, gentle man. He never raised his voice or showed anger toward anyone. He was a good man.
Damon departed this earthly life on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the age of fifty-nine years old. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, George J. Frederick, III.
He leaves to his to cherish memory, wife, Rhonda; stepchildren, Corey Hickman (Stacia) and Carpriea Hickman; nine grandchildren; brother, Darnell Frederick; sisters, Ra Mona Frederick-Taylor (Reggie), Kyella Frederick, and Dei Esther Ellis (Eddie); uncle, Byron Rayford; family friend, Harold Ervin; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
