Jasmine Elaine Owens was born February 5, 1992 to her parents Shonikka E. Tandy and G. Lamar Owens, Jr. at Methodist Hospital in  Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jasmine completed her primary education in the Pike Township School District and was a class of 2010 graduate from Lawrence North High School. She went on to attend the University of Southern Indiana, the Indiana Art Institute, and recently enrolled at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Jasmine professed her love for the Lord at an early age attending Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Faith Church under the late Bishop Joseph D. Farris. She was currently a member of Light of The World Christian Church. She was on the praise team and a liturgical dancer.

In 2013 Jasmine united in Holy Matrimony with David L. Posey, Jr. and to this union she birthed her only daughter, Jelise Elaine Posey. She loved being a mother to her daughter and would do anything for her. She also loved being around her family and friends. Anyone who really knew Jasmine, knew that she was a fashionista. She loved to style anyone for any occasion.

Jasmine went to be in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the tender age of twenty-eight years old. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Felman and Varrie Brown, Sr., Eugene and Mildred Owens, Lee and Barbara Smith, Douglas and Hanella Tandy, Richard M. and Louise Hughes, Sr.; grandparents, Franklin Tandy; and brother, Geordyn Owens.

Jasmine leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jelise Elaine  Posey;  mother, Shonikka E. Owens (George); father, G. Lamar Owens, Jr. (Kelly); siblings, Daajsha Cooley (Andre), Alysha Owens, Avery Owens, Alyiah Owens, Mauriah Lanier, and Marvin Sanders; grandparents, Teacora Jones, Glenda Tandy, Gregory L. and Wanda E. Owens, Sr., Wayne and Karla Norris, Larry and Florence Wilson, Sr., Linda Griffin, Gerald and Zenorla Owens; aunts, Tamela Ingram-Hamer (Shamont), Summer Wilson (Larry),  Paula Guynn, and Theresa Owens; uncle, James Duncan and Ryan Tandy; her work mom, Dacia Hartz; her “sissy”, Cherelle Diggins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
