Wallace Nash was born on July 11, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the beloved son of Dan and Mattie Nash.
Wallace completed his primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. He graduate from Broad Ripple High School with the class of 1979.
Wallace accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Richard W. Burrus at Greater Elim Missionary Baptist church now known as New Direction Worship Center, where remained a lifelong member. He used to sing in the youth choir, ushered, BTU and whatever was needed.
Wallace loved playing cards and dominos with THE GUYS. He also enjoyed driving which led him to entrepreneurship. He started his own limo service and named it “Deacons Limo Service.
Wallace was affiliated with the Indianapolis Ten Point Coalition, the Butler-Tarkington Association, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center. Wallace has a passion for young people and mentored many of them throughout his community.
Wallace was employed at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church and School for thirty years. He coached basketball, drove the school bus and helped out with various activities that involved the youth.
Wallace a peoples person. He was everybody’s favorite, uncle, cousin, and friend. His greatest joy was his daughter Iyana. He would do anything for his daughter. He will be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
Wallace departed this earthly life on July 31, 2020 at the age of sixty years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dan, Jr., Richard. Sr., Ronald, and Larry Nash, Sr.; and Gary Haddnott.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Iyana Nash; sisters, Janice Law, Nancy Nash, and Karen Poston; brother, Kenneth Nash; his life partner, Denise Foster; best friend, Shawn Avant and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
