Obituary

Ms. Linda Lunford, daughter of the late Sandy Lunford and Jessie Lunford, was born February 16, 1948 in Beulah, Mississippi.

At an early age, she professed a hope in Christ.  She joined St. Luke Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She attended Indianapolis Public School #87 where she ran track.  She later went on to Shortridge High School.  There, she learned to sew and participated in the glee club until she graduated in the late 1960's.  She spent a lot of joyful  moments listening to music and she had a vast record collection.

Linda retired from Chase Bank after forty-two years of servic working as a data entry clerk. Linda was a warm, caring person who enjoyed the company of her family.  She especially enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren.

Her favorite pastime was watching old black and white shows, such as westerns, Andy Griffith and The Lone Ranger. She also had a sweet tooth for   candy and ice cream.  While visiting her, we often looked for treats in her guarded candy dish.  Linda was very thrifty.  She found joy in bargain hunting.  In her better days, she quite often shopped at Good Will and Value Village.

Linda departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the age of 72 years old.

Linda leaves to cherish her loving memory two children, Gerald (Cusheba) Lunford and Nicki Lunford; five grandchildren, Gerald (Shyla) Lunford Jr., Ayanna Smith, Tania Lunford, LaTaylor Lunford, and Jaylan Lunford; two great-grandchildren, Shy' Amor Lunford and N'Kosi Toure; two nieces, Marketa (Wayne) Davis and Holly Davis; two nephews, Jeremy Davis and Benjamin (Mary) Davis; a great niece, Chandler Hoskins; many cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
