Angela Mansfield-Jones, was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16,1966 to Mae Helen and late Walter Mansfield Sr. Angela  came to Indianapolis in 1969 with her family.

Angela graduated from Howe High School in 1985. She then went on to Clark Community College where she received a degree in Telecommunications and IT Support.

On September 25,1987 Angela also known as “Angie”, was united in Holy Matrimony to Anthony Jones, Sr. and to this union two sons were born Anthony, Jr. and Antwon Jones. Later, TeArise Smith, Michelle Smith, and Tyshaun Hawkins joined this union, along with stepchildren Antonio Jones, Shaneika Clark, and niece Maryan Jones.

“Angie”, accepted Christ at the age of 6 at Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church. On May 24,1998 she became a lifelong member of Rock Of Ages Church Of Deliverance under Elder Terry R. Adams. She dearly loved the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Angie” was God fearing, a woman of God, strict, beautiful, loving, caring, kind, and helpful.  She was the strength in any hour you could  need and  a prayer warrior to anyone in the need of prayer.

“Angie” enjoyed and loved her family. She was a mother to many, truly a child whisperer, but the world’s greatest Gi-Gi to her grandchildren. Many weekends she spent time enjoying her little divas, painting nails, watching fun movies, and always making them breakfast.

“Angie”  being the only daughter spent a lot of time with her mother Mae Helen, doing just about any and everything the two enjoyed doing together. She was a hair specialist to friends and family, in braids and healthy hair. “Angie” also loved to travel to see her loved ones.

Angela worked as an Telecom Administrator; Information Technology, with The American Legion National Headquarters for 24 years. Known for her kindness, but most importantly for being a God fearing woman, she would walk the halls praising the Lord.

Angela Mansfield-Jones, departed this life one July 10, 2020 at the age of 53 at Community Heart Hospital. Angela was preceded in death by her father Walter Mansfield Sr.; two children Antwon Jones, Michelle Smith; two brothers Walter Mansfield Jr., Charles Mansfield

MY condolences to Mr. Jones and the entire family. My heart was broken for all of you when I heard the news. Angela always had a prayerful smile from day 1 at The American Legion. I have never heard any negative come out of her mouth. She is a woman of God and she is already sitting next to the Father at the throne. Prayers for you and the family! God bless all of you and know she may not be here physically but will forever be here in the spirit. Sean Sparks

To the Family of Angela Jones

I worked with Angela for about 19 years at The American Legion National Headquarters. Angela was always kind, smiling and full of laughter. She would stop by my office and we'd talk about our kids and grand kids were up to. I could hear her praising the Lord as she would walk through the halls not caring who heard her. Angela was a wonderful person and co-worker, I enjoyed her sweet spirit. She will be missed by all who loved her...but God loved her more. My prayers and sincere condolences go out to her family. She is gone but certainly not forgotten. Be Blessed!

This news about Angela's passing was so sad to hear. I've known her all the 23 years I've been on staff with The American Legion. Angela always had so much patience and was ever so helpful and always with a smile. Work will definitely not be the same without her, especially when we call the Help Desk. Rest Easy, Ms. Angela. You will be so very much missed.

I'm very sorry for your families loss and was truley saddened to hear the news of Angela passing. I will cherish our silly conversations when I would pop-up ar her desk and gossip like we did sometimes about random things and of course all the times she helped me when I had computer issues etc. I only worked with her for about six years but will certainly remember the times we interacted.

Angela was one of the sweetest ladies I know. She always had a smile and very eager to help with any issue we had with our phones or computers. I never heard her say anything negative about anyone. I will miss her professional attitude. She was a real joy to be around. She is dancing and singing in heaven now. May she rest in peace.

Angela helped me out many a time through the years, especially when my Legion-issued cell phone was stolen on the D.C. metro. She was always pleasant to work with and always responded with efficiency and a high degree of professionalism. I will miss her dearly as a member of our Legion family.

My thoughts and prayers are with Angela and her family. I worked beside Angela for sixteen years at the American Legion. She had a very deep and devoted love for her family and God. We found out that we both have family in Holly Springs Mississippi and she used to love to talk about our trips down south. She will be missed so much by everyone she touched.
