Michael Anthony Williams known as Big Mikeby his loved ones, was born September 15, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was the second child born to the late Mack and Ora Williams. 

Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jefferson and Pastor Shields and Good Samaritan Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly.  Big Mike in recent years joined Pathway Missionary Baptist Church with Angelo White, Sr. as Pastor.  He was active in ministry at Pathway.  Big Mike served as the President of the Nurses Auxiliary and served the Lord as an Usher. 

Michael obtained his education in the Indianapolis Public School System.  In high school he was also known as “Big Mike.” He played football, basketball and on the wrestling team. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1975.

Michael worked in the Indianapolis Public School System for over 20 years.  After retirement, he worked at various part-time jobs which included his last job at IUPUI and Riley Hospital as security. 

Michael was also known to be a “Gentle Giant.” Big Mike loved his family and friends.  If anyone needed help, he was there.  He enjoyed spending time with family, going to concerts and cooking.  He was known to make homemade ice cream for his loved ones on holidays.  He also enjoyed helping at church events.  Big Mike like giving cards on special holidays to his loved ones. 

The “Gentile Giant” will be missed by all.  Big Mike was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Ora Williams. 

He is survived by his brother, MacIvory Williams; sister, Brenda Quarles; aunt, Mattie Brown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; nieces, Katrina and Sinatra; nephews, Chris and Trell and all his great-nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.

Please know that the residence of Glenn Howard Manor want to extend our depest sympathy to the family of Michael Williams. Michael was kind and encouraging to us all. We will miss his kind spirit and his kindness towards me personally.
