Keela was born on September 16, 1971 to Larry K. and Ruby L. Covington in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Keela  was the middle child of three, so as you would know she was good and spoiled.

Keela  was always a loving a caring child, loving her sister and her brother in her own way, just being Keela.

Keela  gave her life to Christ at an early age.  She loved to sing and was a member of the Children’s Choir and the Trinity Mass Choir.

Keela attended Mt. Zion Day Care, IPS School #79, Shortridge High School and Broad Ripple High School.

As a child she loved to write and play school with her friends, which she always had to be the Teacher.  Keela also loved to play Grocery Store and as you would guess, she had to be the cashier. And anyone who knew, knew that she was a S-K-A-T-E-R!

As a teen she worked a few jobs because she loved having her own money, so that she could buy all the penny candy she could eat.  She loved riding her bike through the neighborhood wit her friends and riding her god brother, Chauncey in the basket that was attached to the front of the bike, telling me weeks later that she had “ridden him.”

Keela  worked for the Carrier Corp. for ten year and after there she enrolled in school taking classes to become a CNA.  She loved the taking care of others.  Her clients loved her and she loved working with and for most of them.  After finishing her classes, she and her sister started their own private care service agency, Kee1 Private Care. She worked for Senior Home Companion, Nurse Finders, Stafford and Marquette Manor.  She also worked for private home patients.

Keela  loved socializing, laughing, and talking with her church family after worship on Sunday mornings.

Keela  departed this earthly life on July 10, 2020 at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 24 days.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Seana R. Gray; son,Jerrien K. Owsley; granddaughter, Ruby L. Johnson; parents, Larry and Ruby Covington; sister, Tamra V.C. Howard (Kevin, Sr.); brother, Keegan L. Covington (Shannon); great-aunt, Effie Gaines of Huntsville, Alabama; nephews, Adrian Howard (Timeka) and Kevin T. Howard, Jr.; niece, Kaylan N.Covington; great-nephew, Kevin J. Howard; god brothers, William Edward, Leonard Carver and Rev. Chauncey L. Duff; god sister, Rebecca “Becky” Tyler and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren and friends.
