A Brief Sketch of Life
Nicole Renee Grayson was born on August 3, 1973 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Sherman L. Grayson, Sr and Gwendolyn Ann William Grayson.
Nicole received her education at St. Rita Catholic School, Ben Davis High School, and New Concepts Beauty College.
She was self-employed and the owner of X-Perteaze Hair Gallery Beauty Salon. Nicole AKA “Nikki” was known as “Slick Nik” and her clients often referred to her as the best hands on the westside or the best kept secret. Nikki was the baby of the family and everybody loved her.
She loved entertaining, hosting and music. She would always say “a party ain’t a party until I walk in.” She was good at rhyming and she loved getting away. She was unique and good at giving out nicknames. She also had many nicknames of her own: Charlie, Blackie, and a stubborn spoiled brat. She was also a teacher to her great-niece, Chaise. She had a special relationship with all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was especially close with her niece, Chineta. She was like a little sister to her and had a very close bond.
Nicole departed this earthly life on June 13, 2020 at the age of 46 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Sherman L. Grayson, Sr.; mother, Gwendolyn Ann William-Grayson; her stepfather, James “Pip” Pippin; and her nephew, Sherman L. Grayson, III.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her sisters, Cheryl Clark-Thames (Tommy), Vickie Burrus (Terry), Natalie Grayson-Holt (Mark), Dana Grayson (Scotty), step-sister, Ashlie Pippin (Dennis), her brother, Sherman Grayson, Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. She will be missed by everyone who loved her.
