David H. Evans was born on September 23, 2005 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Joycelyn Jackson and David Evans.  David's life was tragically cut short in the early morning of May 23, 2020 by drunk drivers after he walked a friend home to make sure they made it safely.

David was baptized at Truelight Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Grove, Mississippi at an early age, along with his father.  David attended Global Prep Academy #44 for kindergarten through 5th grade and Northwest Middle School.  He would have started his freshman year of high school in the fall.

David's smile could light up a room. He loved his family.  His mom described him and his sister Dezi as "a team" and he was filled with joy about the birth of his niece, Kaylee.  David loved spending time with his grandparents.  He wanted to be around them constantly.  While schools were closed during the COVID19 pandemic he spent a lot of time with his grandfather and asked him questions about the Bible and had a strong desire to learn more.  He told his mentor that he wanted to be just like his grandfather.

David enjoyed being around his cousins and making people laugh. They would chase and scare each other through the woods in Mississippi.  He had plans on creating a YouTube channel with his cousins where they would do challenges and pranks.  He especially loved his younger cousins and always wanted to teach them to do the right things.  David enjoyed dancing, having rap battles, telling jokes, and having a great time with his family and friends.  He created connections and bonds with everyone that he encountered.

David loved school and was dedicated and determined to never miss a day.  If he missed the bus, he would walk to school, no matter how far the distance.  David especially enjoyed playing basketball in gym class.  David continued to participate in the young men's mentoring program at Global Prep Academy.  His teachers remember him as nice, respectful, and considerate.

David was preceded in death by his father, David Evans; grandmother, Sarah Evans; and grandfather, Clarence Jackson.

David's memory will forever be cherished by his mom, Joycelyn Jackson; sisters, Macaela and Dehzirae Jackson; brother, Khi Jackson; grandparents, Joyce Jackson, Marshall Evans; greatgrandmother, Ada Atwater; uncles: James, Marshall (Ill), Michael, and Derrick Evans, Torhen Moore; Aunts: Gale Evans and Angela Murray; niece, Kaylee Jackson, and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
