Wanda Louis Green was born November 6, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Ethel Mae Farr and Arthur Miles, Jr.  She was the middle child of three amazing sisters, Brenda Anne and Doris Anne.

Wanda, affectionately known as “Chicken,” graduated from Crispus Attucks in 1969.  While attending Crispus Attucks she a majorette and sang in the school choir.

At an early age, “Chicken” gave her life to Christ and was an active member of Eastern Star Church.  She was a tenor in the choir for many years and often traveled with them to out-of-town singing engagements.  In her younger years, Wanda also filled in for member of the gospel group, Robert Turner & the Silver Hearts.

“Chicken” had the gifts of baking, singing and was a wonderful seamstress.  She was employed at Costco and at the Omni Hotel where she was the head seamstress.  Wanda  was without a doubt dedicated to her family, husband, children and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Being a foster mother to many was also a passion of hers that she did well.

On May 14, 2020, Wanda departed this earthly life to be with the Lord at the age of 69 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Lynn Green, Sr.; son, Michael Vernon Wagner; mother, Ethel Mae Farr-Williams; father, Arthur Miles, Jr.; sister, Brenda Ann Maxwell; and grandson, Phillip Brown, Jr.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
