Sherry J. Weathers (Peanut) was born June 18, 1963 to Joseph Field and Marjorie Weathers (preceded her in death) in Lexington Kentucky.  She attended Russell School. She later attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where she graduated.

Sherry was young when her family moved to Indianapolis.  She and her entire family became united with the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor David Lee where she remained faithful until her demise.

During Sherry’s Christian journey she sang in the Zion Hill Senior Choir, Mass Choir, and the Inspirational Praise Choir.  Sherry loved to sing.  She was a member of the Christian Singles group at her church.  She was truly kind, and when the Holy Spirit would move; Sherry would jump in the aisle and dance.  She had a slide that was unforgettable.  She was very committed to her church and was always in the worship services.  She was known for her pleasant welcome addresses that she would present at her church.  Sherry was very humorous and always made you laugh.  One of her favorite sayings was “Hold It Now!”  Her eyes always lit up when she smiled or laughed.  She loved children and you could always find her playing with the children.

Sherry was very independent.   She had various employments.  She   assisted in establishing her church’s childcare and worked at other daycares Indianapolis.  She also worked for Goodwill Industries until her health failed.  Sherry loved designer handbags.

Sherry never married or had children.  Sherry leaves to cherish her memories  four brothers; Rondell Weathers (Georgia), Jody Clay, Sherman Weathers (Sherry’s Twin), Roger Weathers (Sherry)  George Weathers (Preceded in death); Cousin, Regina Mays (Alvin); eight nieces, four nephews; one great niece and five  great nephews and host of church family and special friends.

Sherry will be missed. But because of her faith in Christ. She is now in heaven. The bible says absent from the body present with the Lord. Praying for family.
