Eddie F. Woods was born on December 8, 1932 from the union of Ira and Ervia Woods.  He was one of 13 children, with 9 brothers and 3 sisters.

He attended Indianapolis Public Schools and was a graduate of Cathedral High School where he was the second African American member of the Basketball Team.

In 1967 he united in matrimony to Lois C. Shively and along with daughters Toni and Kellie, their family was formed.  Eddie worked hard, he was a laborer for Foster Engineering, Verkler Engineering, and a proud member of Local 120.  When her retired he wanted to keep busy, so he spent a short time working for Eastern Star Church.  He served on the usher board and loved being active in the church.

Eddie was loved by all and never met a stranger.  His final days were spent surrounded by loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois; parents; sisters, Odessa, Gladys and Mary; brothers, Robert, Roy, Morris, Early and Richard.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Kellie and Toni; brothers, Kenneth (Joyce), Harold (Sue), Ronald (Piedra), Donald (Loretta); special Niece, Deborah Williams (Frank) and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.
Our prayer is that God would be that source of comfort and strength that you need during this time. He has promised, and He will do it.
