Life Reflections

Harry “Mr. Handsome” Jones was born on July 16, 1953 to the loving parents of Nathaniel and Margaret Jones, who had a family of sixteen children in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He obtained an education from Arsenal Technical High School. He had strong work ethics, working as a chef until his health began to fail. He enjoyed putting smiles on everyone face through his cooking. If you asked him, he would say, “I’m the handsomest chef you would ever met”. He was not only great in the kitchen, but also on the grill. Whenever family members would have a cookout, Uncle Harry would be the first they would call to come grill.

Throughout his life, Harry had many hobbies. He enjoyed watching western shows and spent a lot of quiet time listening to gospel music (very loud). He had a very competitive, yet loving personality. He spent lots of time playing dominos and cards with friends and family. He had impeccable math and money management skills. He had an extraordinary sense of humor that made everyone around him smile. He took fashion cues from no one. His signature look was his own, Stacy Adams in endless colors with suits to match. As he would say, “A man isn’t complete without a pair of Stacy’s in his closet”. He referred to himself as “Mr. Handsome”, and thought that he should live up to that name daily.

Harry was a member of One Vision in Christ Church. He was not shy on expressing his love for The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Harry continuously praised the Lord for all He gave him and for his family. He was always willing to help when he could. He was a (acting) father to many. He loved helping out family, friends, church members, and multiple foundations around the world.

Harry “Mr. Handsome” Jones had a special love for each individual family member and grandchild. He leaves to cherish his memories his lovingchildren, Felicia Jones (David), LaKesha Jones, Stephanie Gibson (DWayne), Maurice Clemons; grandchildren, Amber Hudgins, Marquis Clemons, Jalen Garrett, Terrence Coleman Jr., Taylor Coleman, Camren Jones, David Anthony Jones; great-grandchildren, Rodrick Johnson, Nasir Hudgins; brothers Marvin and Martin Jones (Regina); and a host of beloved nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by both parents Nathaniel and Margaret Jones; sisters, Betty A. Woods, Juanita Jones, Rose Cornner, and Elizabeth Sims; brothers, Ronnie Jones, Richard Jones, Nathaniel Jones Jr., Raymond Jones, Paul Jones, Charles Jones, Kenny Jones, and Melvin Jones.
