Mrs. Georgia Mae Bailey, daughter of Rev. George Henry Greene and Sadie Campbell Greene was the only child born to this union.  She entered this life June 30, 1930, in Fountain Run,   Monroe County, Kentucky.

Due to illness, her mother passed away when Georgia was two years of age.  She was raised by her grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Campbell and grandfather, Henry Campbell, and she helped out on the family farm.  Georgia received her primary and secondary education in the area schools.

Georgia  accepted Christ at a young age.  She was baptized in a creek by her father, Rev. George Henry Greene.  After moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, she became a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in the city.

Georgia Mae and the late Edgar R. Bailey, Jr. were united in Holy Matrimony on June 15, 1954.  Together they shared twenty-nine years of marriage and were blessed to be the parents of six children.

Georgia was employed as a Housekeeper at Methodist Hospital for fifteen years, until she retired. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.  She was meek, humble and loved the Lord.  Mrs. Bailey always helped others, especially those in need, and she created a home full of love and peace.  She always had kind words of encouragement to all she met, having cultivated and maintained numerous friendships over the years.  Georgia also enjoyed gardening and shopping.

Georgia Mae went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2020, at age 89 years 9 months and 1 day.   Loved ones who preceded her in death included her parents, Rev. George H. Greene and Sadie Campbell Greene; grandparents, Henry H. and Mary Elizabeth Howard Campbell; husband, Edgar R. Bailey, Jr.; daughters, Wilma J., Bailey and Ruby D. Bailey; grandson, Denzel R. King, and aunts, Mary E. Johnson and Ella R. Campbell.

Leaving to cherish her memory are daughters, Linda P. Bailey, Brenda Bonds (Stevie), Barbara King (Derrick); her only son, Edgar R. Bailey, III; grandchildren, Stevie M. Bonds, Jr., William T. Bonds, II, Julian C. Bentley, Rev. Justin Williams, Isiah Richmond, Caleb Bailey; great-granddaughters, Brenyelle K.
