Carolyn Joyce Coleman was born to James H. Coleman, who preceded her in death, and Greta J. Williams Coleman-Ward, on November 18, 1958, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

Carolyn completed her primary and secondary education in the Indianapolis Public School System at Broad Ripple High School. She later attended Brown Mackie College and Martin University.

            

Carolyn attended Sunday School at Grace Apostolic Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Morris E. Golder and at Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Faith Church under the leadership of the late District Elder G. C. Mills.

 

Carolyn briefly worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She also drove for Juju’s Limousine Service and retired from A1 Limousine Service. In addition, she did volunteer work for the Indiana Black Expo and the Red Door Cancer Association.

 

Carolyn departed this earthly life on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis.

 

Carolyn was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her brothers, David, Michael, Stephen, and Jeffrey Coleman.

 

She leaved to cherish her memory her son, Cory D. Coleman (Shonevelle Le’Shore); mother and father, Ben Ward and Greta J. Coleman-Ward; four granddaughters, Shonyla, Shonea, Shomiah and Nashaya; sister-in-law, Kimberly Burking-Coleman; favorite aunt, Margaret Wilcox; special cousin, Sandra Couts; nieces, Carmen, Ivory, and Natasha; nephew, David Coleman, II; niece, LaDonna Coleman; special friends, Lawrence and Mary Brookins, Corrie Jones and Lover M. Lewis, other relatives, church family and many, many friends.
