Tiffany Danielle Whitney, Tiffof Indianapolis, Indiana, departed this life unexpectedly on March 10, 2020, at the age of  forty-eight years, while at her home.

Tiffany was born in Indianapolis on April 10, 1971, to Larry G. Whitney and Jonetta Jones Whitney. She completed three years of study at Brebeuf Preparatory School, and graduated from Madison Heights High School in Anderson, Indiana. Tiffany earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1995.  She worked as a high school English teacher for several years in Houston, Texas, prior to changing her career to medical billing and insurance. In Indianapolis, she worked in insurance as Network Development/Provider Relation Manager, Contract Negotiator and International Network Development Manager for companies such as Aetna and Seven CornersTiffany created her own medical insurance contracting  business, J.J. Whitney, LLC.

Tiffany  loved to cook and was working on a cookbook compiled of her favorite recipes from family traditions to ones she created. She had a wicked sense of humor, which allowed her to quickly make conversation with almost anyone.  She enjoyed being around family and friends.  She dreamt big and loved hard. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Tiffany is survived by her father, Larry G. Whitney; her sister, Tamara (Whitney) Roddy; brother-in-law, Kelvin Roddy; niece, Jonetta Mayola Simone Roddy, godmother, Jarnell Burks-Craig (Pack), and a host of uncles and aunts and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, Jonetta (Jones) Whitney, and her paternal and  maternal grandparents.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.  Revelation 21:4

To the family of Tiffany Daniel Whitney; especially to my dear sister in Christ, Tamara Roddy.

Words cannot express the shock I had of the hearing of the death of Tiffany. She was like a little sister to me and I will forever cherish the moments that we shared together. I was blessed to be able to once be called her pastor and was able share many conversations with her concerning her walk with Christ. I can testify and serve as a witness that she knew the Lord and professed Him as her personal Savior. Therefore, take comfort in knowing that though she is no longer in this land of the dying, we are certain to see her again in the land of the living. Death is not the end but a stepping stone to eternal life.

Tiffany had a smile that would brighten up any room that she entered. I often laughed at her sometimes overly-creative ideas on church improvement. Her mentality was that of Christ that surely, all things are possible. I often told Tiffany that she was banned, by God, from all caffeine and other substances that cause her to gain more energy. She was truly a joy to be around. I know that heaven is filled with laughter as they are now watching her rapidly running her mouth and running up and down the streets of gold.

Lady Tisha and I, along with the entire Mt. Vernon Avenue AME Church are praying for your entire family, and will continue to pray until your comfort has come. I am sorry that I am not physically able to be with you today for this great home going celebration, however, world crisis nor geographical distance will be able to keep me from you spiritually. Please know that I am here with arms of love wide open to walk with you through this journey of sorrow.

Much love and peace,

Pastor Rodric K. Reid
