DWIGHT EDWARD BROWN, SON OF Henry and Ruby Nell West Brown, was born January 29, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was reared in a Christian home, and his early church attendance was with his mother at Pilgrim Baptist Church.  His most recent church membership was at Capital City Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

DWIGHT received his primary and secondary education in the local  Indianapolis Public School System.  He completed three years of his secondary education at Shortridge High School and upon the closing of Shortridge, DWIGHT attended  his Senior year at Thomas Carr Howe High School.  He graduated from Howe in 1983.  He completed college studies at Vincennes    University, Vincennes, Indiana.  He also graduated from Kenny’s Barber College.  He passed the necessary examinations to become licensed in his trade of choice.  As a self-employed barber, he also worked at Great Clips.

DWIGHT was friendly and outgoing.  He made his presence known and he left an indelible memory upon many.  Early in life he began exhibiting many uncommon athletic skills.  Basketball became the sport where his energies were channeled and he was a standout in the sport.

DWIGHT EDWARD BROWN departed this earthly life on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the age of fifty-six years one month and nine days.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; brother, Mitchell Brown, and nephew,  Paul L. Baker.

                                                      Reflections (an excerpt)

In my home beyond the sky.

I shall have no burdens or heartaches,

And from tears I shall be free;

When I’ve changed my address to Heaven,

That’s the place where you’ll find me.

My condolences to the Brown family. Dwight we crossed paths many years ago but you felt the need to contact me recently and the experience was no different than it was years ago. I’m sure the Brown family will miss Dwight as it was heartbreaking when I heard the news. Rest In Peace my brother.
