Ruby Nell West Brown, was one of seven born to the union of Frank West, Sr. and Amelia Fowler West.  Ruby was born December 26, 1935 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.  


Ruby received her primary and secondary education in the local area schools.  Early in life, she professed a belief in Christ and she was baptized.  She became a member of the Gordonville Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.


On August 19, 1957,  Ruby was united in marriage to Henry A. Brown.  Their union was blessed with seven children, and spanned over fifty-eight years, until his death in 2015.


Together they made their home in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Ruby was loving and caring in nature.  She lovingly nurtured her family and other loved ones.  After raising her own family, she entered the work force, where she bestowed her loving care upon four other families for over forty years.  She loved each of them as her own and they in turn loved her. 


Ruby Nell West Brown departed this earthly life on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at the age of eighty-four years one month and eleven days.  She leaves to celebrate her life and memory her children:  daughter, Kathy Elaine Brown, and sons, Kenneth Wayne Brown, Curtis L. Brown, Dwight E. Brown, Mark J. Brown and Kevin A. Brown; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Brown, Jr., Ashley Brown Elliott (Devin), Mitchell D. Brown, Jr. (Cicely), Cathy Brown, Ashyia Renée Brown Vasquez (Carlos),   Kyla Brown and Kobe Brown; a host of great grandchildren; siblings, Walter Lee Owens, Frank West, Jr., Sarah Lee Williams, Wilbert West (Carrie) and James Emmett West, Walter Lee West; three generations of nieces and nephews, other relatives, other loved ones, the Pilgrim Baptist Church family and friends.


Her parents; siblings, Walter and Kent; beloved husband, Henry A. Brown; son, Mitchell D. Brown and grandson, Paul L. Baker all preceded her in death.
