His Story

GREGORY SLATTER was born June 15, 1956, in Indianapolis,  Indiana to Frank Slatter and Barbara Jean Kimmons

Tinnin, both of Indianapolis.  GREGORY attended Indianapolis Public School #41 and graduated from   Crispus Attucks High

School. Throughout his life, GREG knew that with God, ALL THINGS WERE POSSIBLE!

GREGORY’S employment history began with Community Outreach as a Driver for many years,

GREGORY also was employed with Jimmy Minor, The Waterfront and Donzae’s Tickets House, and his ending

employment was with Williamson Fish Market.

GREG enjoyed listing to R&B and Jazz Music. One of his many favorite songs by the Chi-Lites was, “I Want To Pay

You Back“. GREG enjoyed going to the casino, reading, putting puzzles together, watching movies and sports and he

loved the game show Jeopardy. GREG was always dressed to impress, very well groomed, polite to everyone and

well respected by everyone that knew him.  He would always lend a helping hand.  He had a passion for the elderly

people and he loved being with his family.  He had his own trademark: GREG was always seen with a toothpick in

his mouth.

GREG had become ill with Cancer in 2018 but didn’t let that stop him.  His doctor relayed to his daughter Shanell

after his passing that he was a very amazing patient, never complained and was always positive regarding this matter.

God blessed GREG and healed his body allowing him to ring the Cancer Free Bell in 2019.

MR. GREGORY SLATTER departed this life peacefully at his home sleeping away on Wednesday February 5,

2020, at the age of sixty-three years seven months and sixteen days.

GREG was preceded in death by his parents: Frank Slatter and Barbara Jean Kimmons Tinnin; his sister, Sharron

Lee Kimmons; his nephew, Anthony     Lamont Kimmons and his best friend, Chuckie Mays.
