Sis. Dannetta Johnson, the daughter of the late James Edgar Watkins and Mary Rose Neeley Watkins, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 5, 1943.

On August 27, 1960, she was wed in Holy Matrimony to Louis Johnson, Sr., and to their union four children, Louis Jr., Kathy, Donald, and Terry, were born.

Sis. Johnson was employed at American Art Clay and  Cornwall before becoming employed with Von Duprin on April 7, 1975. She retired in 2005 at the age of 62 years.

Sis. Johnson joined First Samuel Missionary Baptist Church in 1988 with her husband, where she was an Usher and Sunday School Secretary. In 2015, she moved her membership to St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church.

Dannetta was a very warm-hearted woman, always willing to help those in need. She would let you know if you were wrong or right and she stood by her word. She enjoyed bowling, basketball, The Indy 500, and most of all football.  She was a very devoted wife and mother, and she truly loved her family.

Sister Dannetta Johnson departed this life on January 28, 2020, at the age of seventy-six years eleven months and twenty-three  days.  She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James and Mary Watkins; her beloved husband, Louis Johnson; grandson, Robert Bonds, II; four brothers, and six sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Leeander Watkins; sister, Karlotta Cummings (James); sons, Louis Jr. and Donald Sr. (Rennita); daughters, Kathy Johnson and Terry Pearson (Ivan); grandchildren, Jennifer, Staci, Michael, Ashley, Donald, Jr,, Phillip, Jr., and Kourtney; great grandchildren, Riona, Raniya, Kaiden, Kaylee, Samya, Riley, Maleah, Michael, and Dayan, a host of nieces and nephews, many cousins, church family, and a multitude of friends.
