Annette Bowen was born on August 9, 1937, in Greenville, South Carolina. Her parents were Emma Durant-Sullivan and Willie Ruth Sullivan.   Annette was named after one of the Dionne quintuplets born in Canada in 1934.

Annette departed this life at the age of 82 years, on January 7, 2020, at 10:39 p.m. at Life's Journey Hospice Facility in Avon, Indiana.

Annette married Henry Bowen, Jr. on September 2, 1962, in Greenville, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Emma; her husband, Henry Bowen, Jr.; her brothers, Ezell Sullivan, David Sullivan and Willie James Sullivan, and her sisters, Gena Pearl Sullivan, Lillie Mae Hood and Ollie Brown.

She relocated her family to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1964. Annette was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church for twenty-three years.  She faithfully served on the Usher Board  until her heath declined.

Annette  was an expert domestic and had a desire to serve others. She discovered her calling and eventually started a successful maid service business. She accumulated and retained many loyal customers for decades, until she reluctantly retired, due to poor health. Her love for helping and cleaning stayed with her until the end.

She leaves behind loving descendants who will dearly miss her presence: daughters, Joyce Diane Bowen and Sherry Gale Bunnell; grandchildren: Ericka Dale Bowen, Brandon Eugene Lasley (Sandra), Nickolaus Thomas Williams; great-granddaughter: Breanna Lasley-Hudson (David) and great-great granddaughter: Verla Lasley.

She is also survived by two sisters: Carrie Ruth Hood, of Piedmont, South Carolina and Emma Lee Mosby of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister-in-law, Ida Mae Sullivan of Indianapolis, Indiana, in addition to a host of loving nieces and  nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
