Mrs. Almeda Lloyd affectionately known as “Meda” was born on April 18, 1936 in Spanish Fort, Mississippi to Wesley and Martha Bell Taylor.

Meda received her early education in Mississippi. She married Preston Lloyd in 1956 and they moved to Indianapolis. She continued her education at the Poro Beauty School where she excelled and enjoyed her studies.

She was well known for her baking and everyone enjoyed her cakes and pies. Meda loved gardening, traveling, sewing, crafting, singing, dancing, and playing Solitaire. She also loved to have a good time with family and friends. Meda worked for McFarland Foods, Methodist Hospital and RCA before retiring in 1998.

Meda departed this life on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at the age of 83 years 8 months and 9 days. She was preceded in death by her  husband Preston, two sons, Kenny and Preston Jr., one grandson, Vernie Jr., parents Wesley and Martha, four brothers, Earnest Sr., Wesley Jr., David Ray and Wallace, five sisters, Mary Dell, Sarah, Ruthie Mae, Edna and Alice Pearl.

She leaves one son, Vernie (Ronda), two daughters, Lynda (James Jr.) and Valerie (Kenny), two brothers Albert and Edgar, five sisters, Eva Jean, Essie Lean, Annie Mae, Linda Diane and Betty Jean, three granddaughters, Mia, Nicole and Amber, three grandsons, James “Wesley”, Dorian, and Adrian, seven great granddaughters, five great grandsons, five great great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that she loved dearly to cherish her memory.
