Life’s Reflection

Chandyn Jamaal Caldwell, was born August 10, 1989 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kristina Johnson and Sheddrick L. Pittman Jr.

Chandyn attended Indianapolis Public School #112, Emma Donna Middle School #72 and graduated from Emmerich Manual High School. He received his lifeguard certification from Indy Parks during his junior year.  After graduation Chandyn went on to attend Lincoln Technical Institute.

During his school years,
Chandyn played football, ran track, wrestled, played tennis and was on the cheerleading squad. He was also involved in community sports playing soccer, swimming and loved gymnastics.

In 2011
Chandyn moved to Jacksonville, Florida to be with his family and to enjoy the warm weather. He returned to his hometown of Indianapolis in 2018.

Chandyn held several customer-service jobs in his lifetime working at Game Stop, Cici’s Pizza, Bethel Park as a lifeguard and Labor Ready.

Chandyn was a very happy, loving and caring person. He never met a stranger. His love of family and high moral values was shown through his love and trust of everyone. His adventurous spirit allowed him to try new things and he wasn’t afraid of anything. He could light up a room with his personality, smile and robust laugh. If you were in a bad mood he would say something silly and make you laugh or smile.

Chandyn departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the young age of 30 years, 3 months and 18 days. He is gone but never forgotten.

He leaves many precious memories; his mother, Kristina Caldwell-Johnson (Steven); father, Sheddrick Lee Pittman, Jr.; sisters, Tihani LaChe’ Whittaker, Diana M. Pittman and Tykisha Pittman; grandfather, Sheddrick Lee Pittman, Sr.,(Pennae); grandmother, Diana M. Pittman; his only 2 nieces, Naya LaChe’ and Naomi Jean Dismuke;  and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and a special brotherly friend, Jeffrey L. Mitchell.
