Mr. Homer Jefferson was born June 26,1944 in Itta Bena, Mississippi to George Jefferson and Mattie B. Bryant Jefferson. Homer moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1962.  Here he resided and made his home until death.  Homer attended school in Mississippi.  Homer worked at Allison Transmission for 32 years, where he retired. At an early age in life Homer professed a hope in Christ and was baptized in Mississippi When he came to Indianapolis, he joined First Samuel Baptist Church. Homer hobbies were Remodeling/Home Improvements, Fishing, Hunting, Bowling, Playing Cards and Traveling by Car.  Homer was a care taker of Charles Hays (13), Homer married Theresa Toldens Jefferson October 17, 1989. 

Mr. Homer Jefferson departed this life on Tuesday October 15, 2019, at the age of seventy-five years. 

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, siblings, Lewis Jefferson (LA), George Jefferson Jr. (LA), Preston Jefferson (LA), Roberta Edwards {FL), Earlene Davis (KS), Mattie Coleman {FL), Sandra P. Smith {IN), Beatrice Jefferson, (IN).

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Theresa Jefferson; four children from previous marriage, Phillip N. Jefferson, Raymond C. Jefferson, Leroy Jefferson, Celestine Jefferson Williams (Earl), and stepson, Bruce Davis; sisters, Louise Hopkins (Indianapolis), Edna M. Brown (Kansas), Kattie Regular (Kansas), Velma Steward (Florida) and Elizabeth Powell (Ronald) (Indianapolis); fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

I would like to express my condolences to my great-uncle Homer, he was the brother of my grandmother Roberta (Jefferson) Edwards. We love you, even I’d only met him as a small child. RIP Unc.

I will miss Uncle Homer. My heart is heavy for the loss, but I will treasure the memories of his visits to Florida. Theresa, Celestine and the all of the family, May Jehovah and his Son Jesus Christ give you all the strength during this time. May we do our part so that we have the hope of seeing him again.
