Donald Alan Seymour, the son of Alonzo Juan Seymour, Sr. and Katie Olivia Darden Seymour, was born on August 6, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Everybody called him by his middle name, “Alan”. Alan received his elementary education from Indianapolis Public School #42 and he was a proud graduate of Crispus Attucks High School in 1980. Alan had strong beliefs in his Christian faith.
Through the years, Alan held various positions of employment. His very first job was at Steak-N-Shake from 1979 to 1981, where he was a food service worker, which he was very proud of at the time. He also completed the prescribed course of study to become a Certified Nursing Assistant at a nursing home.
Alan served his country in the military armed forces. He served in the U. S. Army for four years, came home for about a year, and then went straight to the U. S. Air Force. There he completed a tour of duty for an additional two years.
Alan enjoyed family time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and spending time with his brothers and sisters and other family members. He was always giving advice to his loved ones.
When he was a kid, Alan loved the weather and the weather report. He would take apart his mother’s radios and other electronics just to see if he could put them back together again and he did! Alan was very proud of the fact that he read two great books front to back — the dictionary and the Bible. Alan enjoyed reading the newspaper, doing crossword puzzles, and watching CNN news. He also enjoyed DJ-ing and loved “ol school” music. Alan was very meticulous about his attire and loved to dress well.
Donald Alan Seymour departed this life at the age of fifty-seven years and one month of age. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his brother, Alonzo Juan Seymour, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his beautiful wife Wanda Yvonne Seymour, his sons Thomas Alan Pierre Seymour and Donald Anthony Seymour-Hickenbottom; two grandchildren, Thomas Seymour, Jr. and Zac’rya Seymour; two brothers, Anthony Jerone (Lynn) Seymour and Eric Dewayne Seymour; four sisters, Cynthia Diane Seymour Landrum, Theresa Kay Seymour-Sims, Belinda Seymour and Angela Seymour (Jeffery) Sallee; two aunts, Geraldine Darden Golder and Sarah Darden; and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.
