Life Reflections of Evella Robinson

Mrs. Evella Lake Robinson was the seventh child of fourteen born to Bowser Lake, Sr. and Martha Ann Lake on May 2, 1935, in Charleston, Mississippi.  Mrs. Evella Robinson passed away at the age of 84 years on the 26th of June, 2019, with her loving family by her side.

She was educated in the Tallahatchie county school district in Charleston,  Mississippi. Evella accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age.  She dearly loved helping people.

Evella Lake was married to Booker T. Robinson on November 25, 1953. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to enrich the lives of their family. Mrs. Evella was a dedicated wife, and devoted mother. She loved and treasured her family and unto this union seven children were born.

Mrs. Evella worked for a Commercial Laundry Service for several years. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at The Alpha Home.  After   transitioning careers, she was employed by Record Corporation of America for over ten years until her health would no longer allow her to work.

Mrs. Evella Robinson was an active member in her church. She has been a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist church for over 60 years. She was a servant for God working in these ministries: The Usher Board (Adult and Youth), Helping Hands (one of the founders), The city wide organization of Mozel Sanders Thanksgiving Dinner/Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church  Thanksgiving Dinner for the community, Women’s Day (Chairperson), Toys for Tots Christmas Toy giveaway, and numerous other ministries involving children and the community.

Mrs. Evella’s husband, Booker T. Robinson; daughter, Brenda Laws; grandson, Mark Cecil Robinson, and a son-in-law, Rudolph Ward, preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory Mary Timmons of Connersville, Indiana, Shirley Hall of Indianapolis, Michael (Frances) of Merriville, Indiana, V. Lynn Ward, of Winslow, Arizona, Debbie Holt (James) of Hephzibah, Georgia and Peggy Robinson of Indianapolis, Indiana,. She leaves 19 grandchildren, Gloria Robinson, Anastia Timmons, Andrea & Andrea Bennett, Alfonso (Leticia) Jones, David Lowery, Yolanda (Steve) Mason, Duane (Brittney) Laws, Januelle (Jerome) Mcghee , Cristina and Catrina Lee, Gregory Gerald, Michael B   Robinson, Shernise Ward, Rudolph Ward II, Neicola Holt, Johnathan Robinson, Leslie Robinson and Britton Robinson; 23 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of adopted children and god children;  one brother, Spencer Lake; 6 sisters, Lena Lane, Alice Smith, Rachel White, Erma Barnes, Gladys Johnson and Laura Smith, and an array of loving nieces, nephews with spans four generations, other relatives, friends and her Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family.

Of the lost of your mother and also the lost of a friend. We would call your mom and my mom. MS. Carney partner in crime while at Creek Side. They always. Piloting to go home.
She is truly. Missed
