My Dearest Tony and Family,

Charles and I pray daily for your family during the loss of your beloved mom. We were very fond of Mama Lee; enjoyed her visits; loved her dearly and will truly miss her wit.

I will always remember the ability Mama Lee had to illuminate any space she occupied. Moreover, there will be a brighter light in heaven and a glow in my heart as I am reminded of her.

May God continue to grant you peace and favor during this season and may her light shine eternally in your heart!🙏🏾

To the Family, Friends and Loved Ones of Mrs. Linda Lee:

On behalf of the former teachers, staff and students of Benjamin Banneker Charter School District, we extend our deepest sympathy to all of you. Be it known that the students of Benjamin Banneker's lives will never be the same as a result of the many acts of kindness Mama Lee rendered towards them and their families. There wasn’t any sacrifice she would not have made for them. She will always be remembered as a selfless woman of God.

While there are no words that can alleviate the pain and sense of loss that must be yours on this day; we must not look upon the passing of this beloved woman as a period ending her sentence of life. Rather, we must view her passing simply as a comma punctuating it to a more lofty significance.

We are certain that the love and joy she rendered to those whose lives she touched leave many cherished memories. Let us remember the words of the Psalmist, “…weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

We extend our love and prayers to each of you at this hour of your bereavement.

Respectfully submitted,

Dr. Marian Brown
Former Superintendent of Benjamin Banneker School District
