Mark Allen Warren was born on December 27, 1951, in  Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was the son of George Marshall Warren and Georgia Louise Looper   Warren.

At a young age, Mark was baptized and received Christ at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.  He received his primary and secondary education in the  Indianapolis Public School System at School #44 and Crispus Attucks High School.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he bravely served his country during the Vietnam War.

Shortly after returning home in 1973, Mark accepted an assembly line position at Carrier, and he was introduced to his future wife, Marcia Cecille Oliver.  The two fell in love and a daughter, Tamika Alece, was born in September of 1975.  Mark and Marcia were joined in Holy Matrimony on April 3, 1977, surrounded by family in their home.  They celebrated forty years of marriage this year, and they    enjoyed a vow renewal in front of family and friends in 2015.

During his forty-four years career at Carrier, Mark attended Ivy Tech Community State College of Indiana, earning a certifications in Machine Repair/Operation and Electrical Wiring. The additional education afforded him the            opportunity to move from the assembly line to working as an electrician.  He was an active member of the United Steelworkers of America for all forty-four years of his time at Carrier, and he also served on the Skilled Trades Committee.

When he wasn’t at work or at home, Mark was usually talking about  fishing, prepping his fish bait, checking his reels and rods, or on his way to the lake.  Sundays in the Fall and Winter months were not complete without watching his beloved          Indianapolis Colts and he was all about those Indiana Pacers.  He was also actively   involved as a parent: attending spelling bees, basketball practices and games, student council debates, making those wonderful surprise visits for lunch, just to say, “I see you”, and terrorizing any would-be suitors.

In December of 1995 and September of 1998, Mark celebrated the arrival of grandsons, Nicholas DeShawn and Marcus Alexander, beginning a new chapter in his life as “Poppie”. Again, he attended football games, school functions and assisted in  guiding the boys to manhood.

He leaves the legacy of a man with a determination to excel, strong warrior spirit, who was fiercely protective of his family. Mark transitioned on November 6, 2017, at home with his wife by his side.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Marcia; daughter, Tamika  Warren-Jenkins; grandsons, Nicholas and Marcus Powell; mother, Georgia Louise Turner; sisters, Carla A. Warren, Marcia “Xaree” Saunders and Alicia A. Harrison; brother, Dennis L. Turner, a host of  nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and other loved ones.
