Lillie Mae Luster, born December 26, 1935 to Kermit Martin (Nee: Fondren) and Mae Etta Martin in Taylor, Mississippi.  She was second-born of nine to this union.

Lillie or “Mae” as she was affectionately known to everyone accepted Christ at a very early age while attending New Hope Baptist Church in Taylor, Mississippi.

Lillie Mae was the proud mother of eight children, whom she loved and cherished immensely.  The Luster children were always known to be clean and well-mannered and it was important that “Mae’s” home was always intact, a strong quality she possessed.  Her favorite saying was “treat people how you want to be treated”.

“Mae” had a loving and caring spirit and was the heart of her family.  She took pride in her appearance and loved going shopping with her daughters.  Her interest included family gathers, cooking (especially her dressing), gardening, listening to music, watching basketball, and traveling.  “Mae” had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lillie Mae Luster departed this life on Monday, June 16, 2014 at the age of seventy-eight years, five months and twenty-one days.  She was preceded in death by her father, Kermit Martin; mother, Mae Etta Martin; brothers, Charles and Arnold “Mickey” Martin; sister, Q.V. Tyson; and son James Luster.

Lillie Mae Luster leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, David and Robert Luster (Josette); daughters, Aina Luster (Michael), Mary Hill (Jefferey), Ruby Luster, Ezette Miller and Denise Luster; brothers, Zannie B. and Frank Lynn Martin; sisters, Earlie Mae Briscoe, Earlene Egerson (Wesley) and Bernice Wilson (David); fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
