Elizabeth 'Betty' J. Watson, was born to the union of Lonnie Lee Hayden and Esther Marie Hunter. She was born and raised in the town of Owensboro, Kentucky. Elizabeth graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School and attended College at Nazareth College in Louisville, KY. Betty was united in holy matrimony to John W. Watson, I on July 10, 1954, at Blessed Sacrament in Owensboro, Kentucky. From this union, she was blessed with seven sons and two daughters. Betty accepted Christ as her savior on December 24, 1940 and served as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord with the St. Lawrence Parish in Indianapolis, Indiana. Betty and John moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1956, where she was employed with the State of Indiana. She retired early. There was nothing Betty enjoyed more than being a mother and grandmother. She basked in the love and attention that came with this title, and was adored by her children and grandchildren. Betty affectionately nicknamed 'Tiger' by her husband, departed this life on Thursday, December 12, 2013. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lee Wilhite, Regina Gaither, Teresa Hayden, and brother; Paul Hayden. She leaves to cherish her memory: seven sons, John W. Watson II, Victor “Neal” Watson, Rory S. Watson, Marlon D. Watson, Lonnie O. Watson, Sr., Brian K. Watson, Sr., and Pierre L. Watson; two daughters, Charlene M. Watson and Kathy L. Watson. She is also survived by her sisters, Georgia A. Rowan, Esther Black, Katherine Grundy, Gloria Adams, Martha Julius and Helen Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and other loving relatives and friends.
