Norma Jean Williams Ward was born July 23, 1927, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late John Rufus and Myrtle Beatrice Williams.  Norma was the second child of nine siblings.  Five siblings preceded her in death.
Norma attended Crispus Attucks High School, later she became a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She was employed at Methodist Hospital until retirement.
Norma professed her faith in Christ at an early age and over the years she was shown that she truly loves the Lord.
Norma was a member of Phillips Temple CME Episcopal Church for over fifty years until her death.
She served on many ministries including Woman to Woman Ministry, and kitchen ministry; she also served on the Mapleton Fall Creek Neighborhood Association Organization, and most of all she truly enjoyed the Missionary Society Ministry just to name a few.
Norma was strong, independent lady, yet she was caring, loving and giving.
Norma will be truly missed; we all have been blessed to have had Norma in our lives.
Norma was married to William Isaac Ward, Sr. for several years.  He preceded her in death in May of 1998.
Norma enjoyed playing cards, she liked to cook and she enjoyed family cookouts.
Norma Jean Williams Ward departed this life on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the age of eighty-three years old.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Gertrude Bellamy and Lois Williams; brother, Milton (Vivian) Williams all of Indianapolis, Indiana, several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, along with her Phillips Temple Church family under the leadership of Pastor Oliver D. Walker.
