Mr. Ben Wadlington, was born April 3, 1930 to the proud parents of Robert Wadlington and Sadie Carter Wadlington in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Ben moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at the age early age of nineteen where he later enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952.  While serving in the Air Force Ben received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Ben’s most significant duty assignment while serving his country was the 93rd Motor Vehicle Squadron (SAC) where he ranked as Airman First Class.
Ben later became employed by General Motors Truck and Bus Group where he was a certified Machine Repair Machinist with the Chevrolet Division, Indianapolis, Indiana.  Ben retired from GM as a Foreman in 1987 after thirty-five years of service.
Ben’s walk with Christ lead him to become a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church in 1985, where he served as member of the finance committee and building committee for the first church addition in 1995.
Ben was truly a craftsman and could build practically anything by hand from home additions to garages.  Ben enjoyed life and loved to travel as well as participating in various sports activities such as racket-ball, tennis, bowling, bicycling and he was always ready for a good game of cards.
Mr. Ben Wadlington departed this life on Friday, May 17th, 2013 at the age of eighty-three years, one month and fourteen days.  Although his voice we can no longer hear and his smile we can no longer see, his memory will last a life time.  He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Ben leaves to cherish his memories one son, Stephen Wadlington; one brother, Wallace Wadlington (Gwendolyn) and two sisters, Especulia Wadlington and Dorothy Manson and a host of nieces and nephews, other friends and relatives.

R.I.P. Ben... it was such a pleasure to know you and some of your brothers. Peace and Blessings to Ann, Wallace and all who remain... it's been a long, long time. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. God is everywhere present.
