Mrs. Jimmie Lee Chambers Lowery, the youngest of four children was born to Jimmy and Gertrude Williams Chambers on September 15, 1925 in Rienzi, Mississippi. 
Jimmie grew up and attended school in Rienzi, Mississippi. 
Jimmie met and was married to David Lowery in 1943.  When her husband went into the United States Army Jimmie moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. 
Here she began to work for a few years in nursing and as a caregiver.  Her major occupation was providing childcare service in her home. 
Jimmie accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a child in Mississippi.  While in Indianapolis she was united with the College Avenue Church now Oasis of Hope Baptist Church.  She served faithfully in the Women’s Missionary and Hospitality until her health failed her. 
Jimmie loved people, she never met a stranger.  She was also a caregiver. 
In her leisure time Jimmie enjoyed fishing, cooking and visiting with family and friends.  She lived and totally enjoyed a blessed a life.  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Jimmie Lee Chambers Lowery, departed this life on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the age of eighty-seven years. 
She leaves to cherish her memories five sisters-in-law, June Chambers, Ruby Williams, Laurel Williams, Ruthina McRath and Bernice Cook all of Indianapolis, Indiana a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jimmie and I became friends when (her sister) Effie was sick. We kept in touch over the past 12 years. I will miss my talks with Jimmie, but happy my sweet friend is no longer suffering.
