Born on June 2, 1940 to Nancy Rosetta Flimster Robinson and Edward B. Robinson in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nancy Irene Robinson, who was affectionately called “Irene” and “Sunny Gal” by her grandfather and other friends, was educated in the Indianapolis Public School System, having attended Mary E. Cable School #4, IPS School #17, and Crispus Attucks High School. 
On February 29, 1956, she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Cleophus George Loper, Sr.; and from this union eight (8)  children were born. 
Irene was an outstanding homemaker, and cook.  In 1973 she began a career as a Dietary Aide at Winona Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana where she  was employed for more than 15 years.  Later, she  relocated to Lawrenceville, Illinois where she was employed by the United Methodist Village, retiring in 2003.   
In her retirement she enjoyed watching television,  completing word puzzles and reminiscing with family about old times.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her daughter, Eleshia Loper; brothers, Donald Charles “Bug” Robinson, Fredrick Allen “Dickie” Robinson, and Michael Arnold Robinson.
Irene was a devoted and wonderful mother, sister and friend, and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. 
  Mrs. Nancy Irene Loper went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the age of seventy-two years, four months, and twenty-seven days.   
Irene leaves to cherish her precious memory, four sons, Cleo, Michael (Karen), Gerald and George Loper; three daughters, Sherry Loper, Ilene Loper and Sharon Loper Woodland; eighteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and surrogate son who she loved as her own, Michael Johnson, Jr.  She also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Lila Louise Ellis, Rosemary (Aratha) Smith, Edward (Flora Jean) Robinson, Lilaberdia (Mark) Batties and Linda Bridges .
