Clayton Wadlington was born March 24, 1927 to the proud parents of Robert Wadlington and Sadie (Carter) Wadlington in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Clayton moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at the early age of seventeen and landed his first job at Stockley Van-Camp.  Clayton later became  employed at the Daimler Chrysler Foundation where he worked for thirty-four and one half years upon retiring.
Clayton had a zeal for life as he always had a way of making people laugh with his candid sense of humor while coming up with his own phrases that would cause one to smile and laugh.  Enjoying life for Clayton included many things which        included a good game of cards...Dad was his   favorite, as well as being an avid bowler he participated in many leagues across the city.  While bowling in state tournaments and leagues Clayton won many awards and trophies.  He became known to many by his bowling name that was given to him “88” the Go-Getter.”
Clayton Wadlington departed this life on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the age of eight-five years, two months and two days.  Although his voice we can no longer hear and his smile we can no longer see, his memory will last a life time.  He was
predceded in death by four brother and one sister.
Clayton leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Clinton Wadlington and Clayton Wadlington, SJr.; three daughters, Patricia Harris, Jeannie Preston and Nichole Lewis; two brothers, Wallace Wadlington (Gwendolyn) and Ben Wadlington; three sisters, Alma Blain, Dorothy Manson and   Especulia Wadlington; nine grandchildren,         thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and  nephews, other relatives and friends.
