Mrs. Esther Williams Graves the daughter of  the late Alfred and Georgia Williams, was  born on August 3, in Shawnee, Illinois. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized by Rev. William Sweatt at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Esther, later joined New Bethel Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. F. Benjamin Davis. In 1980, she    united in Holy matrimony to Thomas Graves, husband of 37 years.

Esther was educated in Indianapolis Public schools. She was a ferocious reader, visiting the local library several times a month. After completing her higher education at DePaul University, she began   teaching at St. Rita’s Catholic School.

Esther loved teaching her kindergarteners and retired after  twenty-nine years. She decided on a second career as an entrepreneur, purchasing the Flower Hut. She loved working with her hands and     creating beautiful arrangements for others. Esther was a member of  several organizations, to include Tau Gamma Delta Sorority.

Esther Williams Graves  was preceded in death by her       parents, siblings, husband and daughter-in-law, Grace Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory, son Daryell Williams Sr.; daughter,      Barbara Graves Oyewo (Emmanuel); three grandchildren, Daryell    Williams, Jr. (Peaches), Eden and Ellisa Oyewo; great-grandchildren, Daryell III and Casey Grace.
